Our History
chemstars was launched in April 2021 in Düsseldorf with the support of Covestro, Currenta, Evonik, Henkel, and the German Chemical Industry Association in North Rhine-Westphalia (VCI NRW), co-financed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of the State of NRW.
Since then, we have expanded our network and onboarded Bayer, Braskem and Siemens as corporate partners, welcomed the RAG-Stiftung as a supporter and also secured additional funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). These additional partnerships and resources enabled us to further develop chemstars, both strategically and organizationally, strengthening our role as the most relevant ecosystem for startups driving the transformation of the chemical industry.
